March 2007 Our Annual OPEN SHOW
This year's theme: A SHOW OF HANDS
Nearly seventy artists responded to the DeBlois Gallery’s invitation to make art on the theme, A Show of Hands. The gallery did not limit the size of the work nor medium. The show is non-juried and every piece goes up on the gallery walls.
Cora Lee Gibbs, the juror for the open show “A Show Of Hands,”, chose the following entries in various categories: Best In Show went to Laura Tyyska for her textile painting, Healing; Best Three Dimensional, Rosemary Day, Trinity Rep; Best Mixed Media, Nancy Shard, In the Palm of My Hand; Best Wit, Russ Smith, Shades of Blue; Best Photography, Mike Miller, Desolation; Most Poignant, Roger Lebrun, Vietnam, 1969; Most Evocative of Theme, Valerie Debrule, Beatrice Wood at the Wheel and Felicia Touhey, Lasting Impressions.
Merit Awards are:
