THREE WOMEN
Kathleen Armor, Izabella Casselman, Felicia Touhey
Stone Sculpture / Mixed Media / Prints
| Whether consciously or unconsciously, memories often serve to inspire
artists. Such is the case with the show, "Three Women", at the DeBlois
Gallery, Newport. Each of the three exhibiting artists, Kathleen Armor, Izabella
Casselman, and Felicia Touhey, have found that memories of past
experiences have taken on new forms and meanings through the process of
creating work for this show. Memories of the Patagonian landscape are evidenced in several pieces
recently created by stone sculptor, Kathleen Armor. She will exhibit these
organic shapes along with other new works. Cherished memories of family
customs, values and experiences have found their way into new works by
mixed media artist Izabella Casselman. In addition to other pieces, she
will exhibit a series of serving bowls influenced by some of her "life's
pleasures". A prized collection of dolls from her childhood inspired
print-maker Felicia Touhey. The artist has chosen this subject and has
experimented with techniques and processes in her chosen medium to create
a series of prints for this show. |
