Beneath the Gloss

Tiffany Adams Desiree Brunton Katherine Driscoll

There's a great deal of creativity, emotion, energy, thought and just plain hard work embodied in a piece of art. Three artists, Desiree Brunton, Tiffany Adams and Katherine Driscoll, invite you to look "Beneath the Gloss" to discover all that lies within their artwork.

Warren Artist, Desiree Brunton's mixed media paintings "act as a bridge between two worlds - the ordered tangible universe and the invisible universe of our imaginations......." She goes on to state, "Literally and metaphorically there is a continual play between order and chaos during my process of creation."  Tiffany Adams, of Exeter, has created a collection of ceramic sculptural works for the show. She draws inspiration for her organic forms from nature. Katherine Driscoll, a painter from Cape Cod, has found her inspiration on the streets of Newport. Her work "portrays the grandeur of Newport window displays through the seasons." The artist has issued this warning....."Newport clothiers take notice!"

"Forms made in clay.  Inspired by nature."

Desiree Brunton

Mixed Media Paintings

"My paintings are depictions of how I visualize energy and embrace my misunderstandings of complex science. For me, they act as a bridge between two worlds, the ordered tangible universe and the invisible universe of our imaginations, modern physics and the spirit realm. They are obsessive in nature. I compose my paintings intuitively by creating textured layers of overlapping forms and bursts of saturated color. Literally and metaphorically there is a continual play between order and chaos during my process of creation. This body of work was inspired by the birth of my daughter."
