On our walls: Three generations of photographic vision (with a bonus of Bruce's art furniture)

These pictures were all done with a broken down mannequin that I purchased at the Brimfield Fair - I was interested in the surrealism and ambiguity that they all expressed. Some of these images were infrared which in the black and white gave them a less real feeling. Zelda - my mannequin’s name - has provoked much thought for me as I am always thinking of where I can take her.

Bruce Caplain

I love the outdoors for so many reasons, and always love everything nature has to offer whether it be the broad sweeping and varying landscapes, or the small nuanced colors and textures. I try to capture that essence in my work; the colors, textures, lines, and often unusual nature of what the eye sees and how it's portrayed in a photo.

Jacob Caplain

Most of my pictures are in nature. In my eyes, exploring the outdoors and seeing it through the lens of my camera are one in the same. Some of my work is in my hometown of New York City. I strenuously avoid photographing people in the city. Capturing it as a place that is part of nature makes it more grand and more majestic to me.
